Privacy Policy

How your data is protected on Gekifight, a fan community hub.

Last updated: August 19, 2026

1. Data controller

Gekifight is a fan-made community site published and operated by a private individual. This controller determines the purposes and means of the processing described below.

For any question regarding your data, you can contact the publisher at contact@gekifight.com.

2. Data we collect

We limit collection to what is strictly necessary to run the service and the community.

Account: your username, an email address (optional) and the profile information you choose to provide — public handle, biography, region, per-role ranks, links to your social networks and friend code.

Cookieless analytics: a visitor identifier (visitor_id) stored in your browser's localStorage, page views, the referring page (referer), the device type, operating system and browser derived from your user agent, and — if enabled — the country or region. Your full IP address is never stored.

3. Cookies and local storage

We use a minimum of cookies and local storage, grouped by purpose.

Authentication cookie (httpOnly) — strictly necessary: it keeps your session signed in and is not accessible to JavaScript.

Preferences (gf_theme, i18n_redirected) — functional: they remember your display theme and language.

Analytics (_va_vid, _va_sid) — subject to your consent: they allow visits to be counted in aggregate.

4. Purposes and legal bases

Managing your account and the community: this processing is necessary to perform the service you request (legal basis: performance of the contract / terms of use).

Analytics: this processing relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

5. Retention periods

Analytics data is kept for 90 days.

Account data is kept until your account is deleted; it is then anonymised where retention remains necessary for the integrity of the community (published content, competitive history).

6. Your rights

In accordance with applicable regulations, you have the following rights over your data:

Right of access: obtain a copy of the data we hold about you.

Right to rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

Right to erasure: request the deletion of your data, which takes the form of anonymisation where certain content must be retained.

Right to portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@gekifight.com. A self-service account deletion feature will also be offered soon.
